The concepts we develop provide you with the most cost-efficient combination of the following means of transport:
- Road
- Air
- Sea
- Rail
We use vans and lorries for the pre- and post-distribution of goods. The transport units used are exclusively 20- and 40-foot containers, swap bodies and semi-trailers, all of which comply fully with current international standards.
Liability in the event of transportation damage
If several companies are involved in a transportation order, the question of liability may arise in the event of goods being damaged, destroyed or even stolen. In such cases the assignment of liability is dependent on whether or not the location is known at which the damage/theft occurred. The following directives can be applied:
- the General German Freight Forwarding Terms and Conditions (ADSp)
- the German legislation pertaining to the Contract for the International Carriage of Goods by Road (CMR)*
- the German Commercial Code (HGB)
Liability according to the CMR, however, is dependent on whether the goods are transported with/without lorries (accompanied or unaccompanied). There are different limits of liability depending on the circumstances. You will find further information about liability matters under "Insurance".
*There are specific international agreements as well as national legislation and directives for the different means of transportation. For example, in addition to the CMR there is the CIM (for rail freight), the CMNI (for inland waterway freight) and various international air freight conventions.
